Dr Augustin athappilly had a brilliant academic record during his medical training. Securing vi th rank in the Bangalore university in the pre professional examination,he pursued his undergraduate medical course in St john's medical College, Bangalore where he won several laurels and prizes for academic excellence. Soon after completing his SHO training in St marthas hospital Bangalore,he was selected for post graduate training In internal medicine [MD (med)] in the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 1978.Subsequently he distinguished himself by obtaining MRCP( UK) In 1998.The professional posts he occupied include Chief physician and Head of the department of internal medicine in MAJ hospital,a 350 bed general hospital at Edappally, Kerala, Specialist in Rustaq central Hospital under Oman National Medical Service and Specialist in internal medicine in Military Hospital Sharjah, UAE. Returning to India in 2007,he worked in Amala medical Trichur as associate professor in internal medicine and senior consultant physician. In 2015 ,he joined Lisie Hospital where he is currently working as senior consultant physician.
