Overview & Features

The histopathology department of Lisie Hospital examines and submits diagnostic histopathology reports on surgical specimens of human tissues referred to it from the clinical departments of Lisie Hospital and also from other medical centres in the city and beyond it. The reports normally contain a brief description of the gross and microscopic features  observed in the specimen, and a diagnosis based on the  pathologic alterations expressed in the tissues, providing a means towards identifying the nature of the disease process afflicting the concerned patient and serving to guide its clinical management, as well as in prognostication of the disease.
